There are two sides to knowing.
The first brings with it a sense of accomplishment. After all, we all seek a deeper sense of knowing. At times, it may even feel powerful to "know."
There is another side of knowing that can elicit several emotions, including discomfort, shame, and fear. When these feelings begin to surface, the human brain goes to work. Its primary function is to protect you. Fear and discomfort are seen as threats that try to suppress the knowing.
Yet, even in the deep recesses, you know.

Employees today are closely evaluating what they are or are not getting from their jobs.
Estimates are that disengaged employees cost US companies alone close to $500 billion annually. In fact, Gallup reports that only 15% of employees are engaged. It doesn't stop there. Estimates are that up to 2/3 of leaders are not engaged or actively disengaged.
Add all of this up, and the result could be a volatile cocktail that stifles an organization's growth and negatively impacts the bottom line.
