Why do DEI initiatives miss the mark?
Two reasons are self-regulation and self-awareness.
Two terms that sound like they should be so much easier than they actually are. Often DEI initiatives are focused on what we can count instead of how we feel.
In this episode of The Coffee with Rhonda Show, we discuss why diversity, equity, and inclusion often do not lead to the desired outcome of belonging. As a bonus discussion, we'll also explore why our emotions can sometimes feel like a runaway train leading to behaviors that seem reasonable at the moment but can have long-term undesired consequences (ie: The Slap).

COVID, jobs, politics, family... oh my! I feel stuck! Biologically, we are hardwired for comfort. We look for control as a means of affirmation that things are okay.

While many industries have been impacted by the great resignation, not all industries are experiencing it with the same intensity.

In recent studies, 86% of employees and executives cite the lack of effective collaboration and communication as the main causes of workplace failures. We all communicate every day. Yet, somehow effective communication that can be measured by results can feel overwhelming and elusive.
Having a leadership title does not automatically improve your communication. The improvement only comes through intentional reflection and deeper learning. But, who has time for that?
